An Inspiring Exchange: An Evening with Chief Mundiya Kepanga 🌍

We were honored to host Papuan Chief Mundiya Kepanga, customary chief of the Huli people of Papua New Guinea, this week at IFS for a truly unique evening.

From the screening of Guardians of the Forest to a lively Q&A, it was an evening of pure authenticity where the curiosity of our students met the timeless wisdom of Mundiya.

“How old are you?” “What is the meaning of your name?” 🧒💬
We learned that age is just a number (one he doesn’t even track!), that his lineage is tied to the birds of the rainforest. 🌳🦜

Through laughter and wonder, our community discovered a new perspective on conservation. Chief Mundiya didn’t just teach us about biology; he taught us about the soul of the Earth.
It was a beautiful, candid, and often humorous exchange that reminded us all: to protect the primary forests, we must first learn to love and respect them as he does.

A huge thank you to Chief @mundiyakepanga and filmmaker @marcdozier , for opening our hearts and minds and for reminding us that while we may live worlds apart, our responsibility to protect the Earth’s primary forests is a shared journey.

What a weekend! 🇹🇭🏀 The PROZAP Basketball Tournament hosted by @lyceefrancaisbkk has come to an end, and our athletes left it all on the court!

A massive shoutout to our Middle School Girls (Group A) for their incredible performance, bringing home the silver medal! 🥈 👏

We also want to congratulate Hong Kong and Tokyo for dominating the tournament with 2 titles each. 🏆

Historic Success for IFS at the Asia-Pacific AAEH Finals in Canberra! 🌟🥈🥇

We are thrilled to announce that our students have just returned from an intense and unforgettable week at the “Ambassadeurs, Ambassadrices En Herbe” (AAEH) regional final in Canberra, Australia!

Representing IFS among 14 schools from the AEFE Asia-Pacific network, our team truly shined, bringing home remarkable achievements that make us incredibly proud:

🥇 Gold for Gabrielle: A huge congratulations to Gabrielle, who won the Gold Medal in the “Speaker” category! She will now represent the entire Asia-Pacific zone at the World Final. An extraordinary achievement!
🥈 2nd Place Overall: IFS reached the podium! This collective success reflects the rigour, active listening, and critical thinking skills of our students.
🥉 Bronze for William & Mathilde: Kudos to William and Mathilde for securing Bronze Medals as “Fabulists.” Their enthusiasm and stage presence truly captivated the jury.

A massive well done to our entire delegation, William, Mathilde, Kimi, Anaïs, Gabrielle, and Lily, for their hard work and dedication throughout this journey. Guided by Ms. Chauvet and Ms. Chomienne, they have shown what it means to be engaged and responsible citizens of the world.
The closing ceremony, held at the French Residence in the presence of the French Ambassador to Australia Mr Pierre André Imbert and Mr. Guillaume Cario, AEFE Head Office Delegate and Asia-Pacific Region Head, was a highlight of the Francophonie celebrations, reminding us all of the power of language and debate.

Thank you to the @telopeaofficiel for their wonderful hospitality and organization. This adventure marks a proud milestone for the IFS community, showcasing our excellence within the global AEFE network.

A Nostalgic Sunday to Remember! 🎶✨

Our students took the stage at the @afsingapour for the spectacular VIVE 90s concert, and the energy was simply electric!

From our 40 Middle School choir members to our 7 High School singers (Option musique), a total of 47 IFS students from 6ème to Terminale performed together in perfect harmony. Whether it was the emotional “S’il suffisait qu’on s’aime”, the powerful “L’envie d’aimer”, or the high-energy “J’irai où tu iras”, they sang their hearts out as one.

Beyond the technical performance, this was a beautiful display of inclusion and community. The backstage atmosphere was incredible, proving that music is the ultimate bridge between generations.

Most importantly, this event was a major fundraiser for @singtheatre “365 Hours of Music” initiative. Seeing our students use their voices for such a great cause reminds us of the strength of our community bonds.

A massive thank you to our music teacher and choir director, Julie Demange, your dedication and tireless work brought this diverse group together into one united, moving voice. 👏🌟Congratulations to all our performers, you made the entire IFS community proud!

The IFS community experienced a moment of profound emotion and reflection. In partnership with @memorialshoahofficiel , we hosted a live conference from the Drancy Memorial. 🇫🇷

We were privileged to hear from Jean-Victor Cario, who shared his moving journey as a hidden child during the Holocaust. His story of resilience and survival left a lasting impact on our students and parents alike.

A huge congratulations to Margaux in Terminale for her excellent moderation and for representing the PEAC (Parcours d’Education Artistique et Culturelle) program with such maturity. 👏

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to Jean-Victor Cario for his generosity and to the Mémorial de la Shoah for making this transmission possible. Listening to these voices is how we ensure that “Never Again” remains a commitment for the next generation. 🕊️

The 21st edition of SIMUN has officially begun! Today, 150 delegates from 9 schools gathered to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: “Global Security in the 21st Century: Strengthening Peace, Justice and Stability.” 🛡️⚖️

We were honoured to welcome Mr. Jérôme Peze, CEO of Tinubu Square, Senior Advisor with Morgan Stanley, Advisor to the French Chief of Staff, Conseiller du Commerce Extérieur de la France, who inspired our delegates with his opening remarks on the complexities of international cooperation. 🤝

The ceremony was marked by: 🎹 A breathtaking piano performance of “River Flows in You” by Desirée (Terminale). 🎙️ Inspiring speeches from our Secretaries General, William and Lillian.

🎤 A seamless presentation by our Deputy Secretary General, Hanaé. 🏫 And a powerful opening address by our School Principal, Mr. Binan.

From the rise of political violence to the unprecedented threats in the digital space, our young leaders have already begun navigating these challenges with courage and diplomacy. 💻🌍

A heartfelt thank you to all the delegates, teachers, mentors, Mrs. Leena Sharma and the dedicated organising team, who are already making this 21st edition a success.

Celebrating Eloquence at IFS! 🌟

At the end of January 2026, eight of our talented middle and high school students took the stage for the school-level final of the “Ambassadeurs, Ambassadrices En Herbe” (AAEH) competition.

This prestigious AEFE project challenges students to master the art of public speaking through local, regional, and global tournaments. For this edition, our speakers tackled a fascinating and timely theme: “Artificial Intelligence: A Revolution Serving Humanity?” 🤖✨

Since October, these students have been training weekly under the dedicated guidance of Ms. Chauvet and Ms. Chomienne, honing their oratory techniques and finding their unique voices.
A huge congratulations to all our participants: William, Fares, Mathilde, Gabrielle, Emma , Anaïs, Zichun, and Lily.

After an impressive final judged by our panel (Ms. Tché, Ms. Erin-Agot, and students Alys and Manon), six laureates were selected to move forward: 🏆 William, Mathilde, Gabrielle, Anaïs, Zichun, and Lily.

The adventure continues right now! ✈️ 🇦🇺 Our ambassadors are currently in Canberra, Australia, for the Asia-Pacific regional final (March 9th–13th). We are incredibly proud of their journey and wish them the best of luck as they represent IFS on the international stage!

« La Voix des Savants » & « Mad Maths » : A week of artistic and intellectual discovery at IFS! 🎭✨

Our school became a vibrant stage where science, humor, and eloquence collided.
The journey began with “Mad Maths”, a quirky and surreal theatrical performance. Our students were treated to a “maths lesson” like no other, featuring two eccentric professors who turned concepts like infinity and zebras into pure poetry. It was the perfect, high-energy spark to remind everyone that learning is, above all, a creative adventure! 🦓🧮

Inspired by this professional performance, our 8th-grade (4ème) students stepped into the spotlight for their own project: “La Voix des Savants”.
Through intensive workshops with professional actors from La Compagnie du Chemin Ordinaire @ciecheminordinaire , our students mastered the art of public speaking and collective reading. They stepped out of their comfort zones to give voice to the greatest minds:

The logic of Descartes 🧠
The courage of Simone Veil ✊
The brilliance of Marie Curie & Alan Turing 🔬
The advocacy of Malala Yousafzai 📚

By lending their voices to these visionaries, our students proved that they are ready to think for themselves and shape the world of tomorrow. 🌍🗣️
