PARENTS REPRESENTATIVES
IFS Parent Committee & Class Representatives
At IFS, we believe we exist to equip our students with the skills and knowledge to excel in all their personal and academic endeavours in an ever-changing world. Parents play an ever-increasingly important role in the upbringing and education of children. As such, at IFS parent involvement in the educational journey of our students is seen as a critical component to creating a conducive and engaging learning environment.
At IFS, we have found that parent involvement in the school brings out the best in our students. They have better self-esteem, are more self-disciplined, show positive attitudes, and exhibit higher aspirations and motivation towards their academic goals.
Parents can involve themselves in IFS through active participation in the Parent Committee, (Commission Parents) and as Class Representatives, (Délégués de Classes). Holding these roles within the school closes a vital gap and creates an all-important dialogue between family and school.
To contact the Parent Committee, you can send an email to: [email protected].

PARENT DÉLÉLGUÉ
The Role of the Class Representative
Becoming a class representative is an excellent way for new families to Singapore and the school to quickly integrated themselves into the IFS community.
A critical link between the parent community and the school, we encourage parents to become active participants in not only their children’s education but also in the broader operations of this school. And we are always looking for new perspectives and ideas to make IFS the best learning experience possible for our students.
- Organise start of school meetings for the class representatives
- Participation on the Primary School Committees and secondary quarterly class councils
- Provide support for parents in case of problems in their classes
- Participation on the Educational Committee
- Help and advise IFS families on class and school issues
Roles and missions

- Of the class’ teachers.
- They organise the class lists (mail and / or WhatsApp)
- They inform parents about all the resources available to them to follow school life.
- They prepare the School Council by meeting every quarter with the other classes’ representatives and elected parents to the Parents Committee.
- They participate, if they wish, in the various projects of the Parents Committee.
- For secondary (college / high school):
- Parents are the privileged interlocutor:
- Of the parents of the class they represent during the 3 class councils (1 per term),

Please note that it is not needed nor requested to speak French. On the contrary, we welcome parents who are non-French speakers to join our representative community! By joining us, you are sharing your valuable perspectives with us and we count ourselves lucky to have you on board!

Marc Tanguy
We are a Franco-Chinese family based in Asia for twenty years. Our two sons, Maxence (Terminale / Grade 12) and Léandre (3ème / Grade 9), were born and mostly raised in Singapore; they also attended school for one year in Paris and two years in Tokyo, where I worked for four years.
An elected member of the Parents’ Commission (ComParents) since last year, I wish to continue my active commitment to student well-being and the continuous improvement of IFS: maintaining high academic standards, quality teaching, international openness, and strong preparation for post-baccalaureate studies, giving every student a lasting foundation for their future success.
Jerome Guerville
I am the father of five children, including Hiroki (5ème / Grade 7) and Akira (CM2 / Grade 5) studying at IFS, and Ayumi, who attends The Guild International School (located on the same campus). I have worked in Asia for nearly twenty years managing multicultural teams, which taught me the importance of listening and keeping things simple. I would be happy to dedicate my time and experience to serving parents and helping wherever I can.
Agnès Nazemi
Mother of three children in 5ème (Grade 7), CM2 (Grade 5), and MS (Moyenne Section / Kindergarten). We are a Franco-Iranian family and have lived in Singapore for three years.
I currently work in French language education. In my eyes, the diversity of cultures, generations, and backgrounds of each family represents the true richness of IFS—a dimension of the school I particularly appreciate.
Last year, I participated in organizing several school projects. I am delighted to join the Parents’ Commission this year to continue contributing to school life and acting as a link between parents and the administration.
Irina Kholkina Sousa Lobo
Originally from Russia, my journey took me through the United States, the United Kingdom, and India before settling with my Portuguese husband in the United Arab Emirates, and subsequently moving to Singapore in 2021. I am the mother of two children—Máximo (CP / Grade 1) and Joaquim (Petite Section / Nursery)—and stepmother to three adult children: Gaspar (Troisième / Grade 9), Hamilcar (Première / Grade 11), and Inácia, who graduated with her Baccalaureate from IFS in June 2026.
With twenty years of experience in education strategy across K-12 and higher education, I have been actively involved in school life for five years, particularly within the Parents’ Commission. I would be delighted to continue this commitment serving the families of IFS.
Julie THOMAS
Arriving in Singapore in 2025, I am the mother of a student in Première (Grade 11), while my other two children are university students in Paris and London. Ever since they began school nearly 20 years ago, I have been actively involved in their institutions. Whether organizing events with parent associations or representing parents on administrative boards, I have had the privilege of experiencing very different educational structures across France, the United States, and Belgium.
I would be thrilled to bring my experience and dedication to representing parents and supporting the IFS community.
Celine GRIOT
We are a French expat family who had the chance to live in Cambodia before moving to Singapore. IFS has been part of our family history for a long time: our two eldest daughters completed their entire schooling here, and our son is currently in 3ème (Grade 9).
A lawyer by training, I have always been committed to participating in the communities we belong to. In both Cambodia and Singapore, I have dedicated myself consistently to various volunteer activities, and subsequently at IFS as a class representative and member of the Parents’ Commission.
These years have given me a deeper understanding of the expectations, concerns, and occasional challenges that expat families face. Above all, they have convinced me of the importance of open, direct, and constructive dialogue between parents and the teaching staff.
Today, I wish to continue this commitment with the same energy and availability: to serve as an attentive liaison for families, to voice their ideas and concerns, and to contribute in a constructive spirit to a fulfilling school life for our children.
Emily Minette
We are a Franco-American family living in Singapore since 2024, after spending 13 years in California. I have two daughters enrolled at IFS, in CM2 (Grade 5 / Primary) and 4ème (Grade 8 / Middle School).
A lawyer by training, I transitioned into the tech industry a few years ago and have been working for Apple Services Engineering for nearly eight years.
I have always been deeply committed to getting involved in my children’s schools, as I believe it is essential to dedicate time to their environment and community. Through various projects, initiatives, and school events, I aim to make a concrete, positive contribution to school life and the well-being of all children.
Natalya Gavriluk
Belgian and fluent in three languages—French, English, and Russian—I am the mother of two children in CP (Grade 1) and CM2 (Grade 5), and brand new to Singapore. Active in parent associations ever since my daughter started school, I enjoy networks that build connections and bring solid experience in organizing events and projects.
Kristina Zulueta
As a parent of a 5ème student and a long‑standing parent volunteer of Groupe Humanitaire at IFS, I bring with me a wealth of experiences shaped by living across diverse regions—from the Middle East to Europe, Oceania, and now Singapore. These journeys, enriched through both professional roles and benevolent endeavors, have deepened my appreciation for connection, collaboration, and contribution. Guided by these values, I am committed to fostering a supportive environment for our children and nurturing the spirit of partnership that strengthens the IFS community.
Wang bobo
I have been a Chinese language and fine arts teacher for over 15 years. My experience in education has deeply convinced me that understanding and discovering different cultures, arts, and languages brings people closer together and creates genuine connections. As an IFS parent, I have been actively participating in school life since 2023, notably during the Walkathon and the School Fair (Fête de l’École), where I had the pleasure of contributing to the organization of various fun and artistic activities.
Today, I would like to join the Parents’ Commission (Commission Parents) to put my background in education, my intercultural experience, and my enthusiasm at the service of our IFS community, helping to build even stronger ties between families and the school.
Olga Shevchuk-Daniel
Originally from Russia, I have lived in Singapore for ten years with my French husband and our three children. I hold a background in child psychology from Moscow State University.
Having lived in several countries, I have had the opportunity to discover diverse cultures and environments. I speak Russian, French, Portuguese, and English.
I have practiced Iyengar yoga for twenty years and, after several years of training—notably in India and France—became a certified instructor. In 2019, I founded Olga Yoga Studio in Singapore, where I continue to teach with great passion.
I am deeply attached to the values of education, sharing, and mutual respect. In this spirit, I wish to get more involved in the IFS community today by joining the parents’ group.
Emilie Kastanis
An engineer by training and an expat for 25 years across Europe, the Middle East, the United States, and Asia, I am the mother of three Franco-Greek children in 5ème (Grade 7), 3ème (Grade 9), and Terminale (Grade 12), who have been attending IFS for nine years.
Actively involved in the Humanitarian Group (Groupe Humanitaire)—and specifically in the secondhand book fair (Bourse aux livres) for the past four years—I would be delighted to continue this commitment by joining the Parents’ Commission to contribute to the well-being of your children.
