Bridging primary & secondary through mythology! 🏛️✍️
Our CM2 (year 5) students are stepping into the fascinating world of Germanic mythology alongside Mrs. Günther’s Year 9 German class. Through a fun « Mythological Speed Dating » activity, our younger learners get to interview their older peers, collect key clues, and explore ancient tales to spark their own creative writing.
Beyond connecting primary and secondary students, this pedagogical project broadens our learners’ cultural horizons and enriches their curiosity about world stories and myths.

Connecting Roots, Sharing Culture: Discover the IFS Hispanohablante Club!
Did you know that the Spanish-speaking community at the International French School (IFS) is growing every year? To celebrate this vibrant cultural identity, our Club Hispanohablante successfully held its very first meeting of the school year!
What is the IFS Hispanohablante Club? It is a monthly gathering that offers a dedicated space for students from 6ème to Terminale (Grades 6 to 12) to reconnect with their roots, express themselves freely in Spanish, and build a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
Whether students have Hispanic heritage, a Spanish-speaking parent, or have lived for over 3 years in a Spanish-speaking country, this club is designed to celebrate their unique background!
What to expect this year? It’s all about speaking freely and diving into the rich diversity of Hispanic cultures! During the kickoff session, students brainstormed and picked the exciting themes they’ll explore throughout the year:

Taste Week at IFS: A Colorful Sensory Adventure! 🌈🍎🥦
Our Petite Section (Nursery) students explored the world of flavors during « La Quinzaine du Goût »!
From themed apple days to bright yellow, green, red, and orange days, our little explorers arrived dressed in the daily color with matching fruits and vegetables to share. This playful journey introduces healthy nutrition, expands vocabulary, and sparks sensory awareness through sight, touch, and taste.
The highlight of last week? Parent volunteers leading interactive, hands-on workshops in the classrooms! It’s a wonderful celebration of community and culinary curiosity where our youngest learners experiment, taste, and grow together.

Singing from the Heart & Spreading Joy! 🎶✨
Our IFS Secondary Choir brought music, smiles, and warmth to Singapore General Hospital for MusicFest@SGH 2026! 💛
Performing both inside the hospital and in the serene Healing Garden, our students filled the air with hope and harmony for patients, staff, and visitors. Their eclectic repertoire brought everyone together, from local classics like Dick Lee’s “Bunga Sayang” and “Home”, to the timeless French melody “La Mer”, and even a joyful, high-energy performance of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”! 🎵
We are immensely proud of our students’ dedication, generosity, and musicality, a beautiful reflection of community spirit in action.
A massive thank you to our passionate music teacher, Julie Demange, for her inspiring guidance and leadership, to Fran Ho, our dedicated pianist, and to @singtheatre and @sghseen for making this wonderful event possible.

Democracy in Action: Preparing the Citizens of Tomorrow! 🗳️✨
Learning about democracy starts with experiencing it! Our CM2 students recently took part in their class representative elections, stepping directly into the shoes of active, responsible citizens. 🌐
More than just a vote, this hands-on experience gave our young learners a complete understanding of democratic principles:
🗳️ The Voting Process: From entering the voting booth to signing the register and casting their ballot.
📊 Official Roles: Experiencing the duties of election officers, scrutineers, and vote counters during the ballot count.
🤝 Civic Duty: Experiencing first-hand the civic habits they will carry into adulthood.

Huge congratulations to Augustin, Charles, and Bao Anh from the IFS Orchestra for brilliantly passing the prestigious @oclfm.aefe (Orchestre et Chœur des Lycées Français du Monde) audition!
In 2027, they will head to @lycee_descartes_rabat_officiel , Morocco 🌍 joining around 110 talented young musicians and choristers from French schools worldwide for 10 days of intensive rehearsals and a grand final concert. 🥳🎶
