Today, we officially welcomed our newest international and French educators, as well as our support teams, during our annual IFS Onboarding Day, hosted for the very first time by our new Principal, Mr. Samuel Jourdan.

Bringing deep expertise and global experience, our new faculty members are ready to inspire our students across all levels.

Beyond discovering our campus, setting up vibrant classrooms, and connecting with Singapore, this day was all about creating genuine bonds and building a strong sense of belonging. A New Chapter at the Counter: Welcome Sodexo! 🍽️🤝

As a new school year begins, our cafeteria is getting a fresh look and a brand-new partner! While you usually see the friendly faces serving meals every day, behind the scenes, our new food service team from @sodexomysg has been hard at work preparing to nourish our community.

This year, International French School (IFS) is officially partnering with Sodexo to elevate our daily dining experience. Their focus? Making sure every single student and staff member enjoys healthy and perfectly balanced meals all year long.

Before opening the doors, the team gathered for an intensive preparation session focused on:
🥗 Nutritional Excellence – Crafted menus designed for balanced, high-energy learning days.
🛡️ Food Safety & Allergen Control – Maintaining the highest standards of safety for every plate.

🌱 Cultivating Wonder on the IFS Rooftop Garden! 🌍

At IFS, learning goes far beyond the traditional classroom! As a new school year unfolds, our Kindergarten students (Petite, Moyenne, and Grande Section) continue to explore nature firsthand on our rooftop garden, diving into the world of permaculture and sustainability.

Guided by our dedicated teachers and permaculture expert Mr. Thomas Charrette, our young eco-explorers engage in hands-on activities that foster respect for our planet:
🎨 Mud Stencil Art: Feeling natural textures, playing with mud, and creating art with raw materials.
🔍 Mini-Beast Safari: Observing Singapore’s local insects, caterpillars, and snails with magnifying glasses, learning to handle living creatures with care and curiosity.
🌱 Planting for the Future: Learning how seeds sprout, potting their own plants, and bringing them home to nurture with their families.
♻️ Feeding the Soil: Discovering the magic of composting and enriching our rooftop garden beds.

Through experiential learning, our early learners develop a deep connection to local flora and fauna, laying the foundation for lifelong environmental stewardship. 🌍💚

Huge hearts, big spirits, and endless energy! ✨

When our Kindergarteners come together for Sports Day, it’s all about movement, smiles, and friendly competition. They might be small, but they definitely gave it their all! 🏃‍♂️🏅

Our youngest athletes in PS and MS had an amazing time building their skills through fun station games, laughter, and teamwork. 🎈🧩

Meanwhile, our GS champions took it to the next level with a mini-triathlon! They splashed through the pool, pedaled like pros around the track, and sprinted all the way to the finish line. 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

A massive round of applause to all our little athletes for their incredible effort and sportsmanship! 👏❤️

Student Spotlight: Bullseye for Gabin! 🏹🎯

This year again, Gabin proudly represented IFS at the 15th National Inter-School Archery Championship (April 2026).

As a major highlight of Singapore’s archery calendar, the tournament brought together more than 100 fierce competitors from schools across the island, many of which train in archery as a core sport! Despite the tough competition, Gabin fought hard and successfully improved his ranking compared to last year. 💪

Beyond the scores, it was a beautiful, joyful day celebrating the chivalrous spirit of archery alongside passionate young athletes.

Join us in saying a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Gabin! We are so proud of your dedication. See you next year on the field! 🌟

Architects in the making!🏗️

This year, our 5e students stepped into the shoes of the legendary Antoni Gaudí!
As part of our Gaudí Project, commemorating the centenary of his passing this year, we had the honor of welcoming Catalan architect Joan Capdevila for an exclusive, hands-on workshop.

📐 After a quick plunge into the theory, the classroom turned into a design studio. The challenge? Understanding and building a catenary curve (the natural curve formed by a hanging chain).

📎 Working collaboratively, the students used simple paper clips to replicate the exact model-making technique Gaudí used to design his architectural masterpieces, including the iconic Sagrada Família!
