A day for mental health, resilience, and community! 🎡

To mark World Infant, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Day, our Counselling Centre (2C) teamed up with @boystownsg for an engaging, carnival-themed event.

Mental health doesn’t start in adulthood, it is shaped from the very beginning. Our goal was to ensure every young person at IFS feels safe, understood, and supported. Through fun activities and meaningful conversations, we focused on:

✅ Awareness: Understanding the journey from infancy to the teenage years.
✅ Early Action: Learning how to support a peer in need.
✅ Resilience: Building tools to navigate life’s challenges.
✅ Zero Stigma: Reminding everyone that asking for help is a sign of strength! 💪✨

A huge thank you to Boys’ Town and the 2C team for their work and to all the students who joined us to build a kinder, more resilient community.

“Prendre soin de l’esprit d’un enfant, c’est construire l’adulte de demain.”

Where French, Chinese, and Singaporean cultures meet. ✨

Our Chinese Cultural Evening, “Spring 春 (Chūn)”, was a spectacular success! 🌸 This event was more than just a series of performances; it was a vibrant demonstration of the multiculturalism and multilinguism that defines our school. Our students from CM1 to Seconde showcased their incredible Mandarin journey, bridging French and Chinese cultures with grace and passion.

See some of the highlights:
🦁 The powerful Drum & Lion Dance kickstarting the night.
🐉 Fierce Dragon Dance and Martial Arts displays.
🎻 The delicate strings of the Guzheng and Pipa.
🎭 Students bringing Mandarin to life through theatre and poetry.
💃 A fusion of traditional fan dances and modern “Ke Mu San” vibes.

We are so proud of our students for showing us that language learning is about more than just words. 🤝❤️Bravo to our mandarin teachers Mr Gan, Mme Zhou, Mm Chang, Mme Decotte, Mr Yip and everyone involved in making this “exceptional moment” a reality!

« La richesse de notre école ne réside pas dans l’uniformité, mais dans le dialogue constant entre nos cultures française, chinoise et singapourienne. »

Cognitive Science at IFS: A continuous journey toward smarter learning 🧠✨

From the very first weeks of school to our daily classroom routines, the International French School is committed to helping students “learn how to learn.” 💡

It’s been a busy year of brain-focused growth:
✅ The Foundation: Back in September with hosted an expert conference by Frédéric Guilleray, exploring the keys to memory and comprehension with our families.
✅ The Practice: Our 8th and 10th graders kept the momentum going in their “Cognitive Classes,” using tools like the “Reactivation Notebook” to turn new info into lasting knowledge.
✅ The Masterclass: Our 11th graders recently joined our teacher Mr Gilles (Cognitive Science Coordinator) for a deep dive into memory optimization: “Less time, better results.”

At IFS, we believe that understanding the science behind the brain is the best way to build academic confidence. We’re proud to keep this pedagogical innovation alive every single day! 🏛️✨

« Apprendre est une science. En faire un art, c’est le rôle de nos enseignants. »

Spotlight on a special encounter at IFS! 🏹✨

We had the pleasure of welcoming Antoine Nguyen, member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International French Archer, to our school.

Antoine was truly impressed by our campus, discovering our two gymnasiums with climbing walls, our two swimming pools, and our two sports fields. 🏫💪

But it was his words to our students that truly resonated. He gave them valuable tips on how to keep going and find the strength to continue a sport even when things feel difficult or when you feel "stuck." His golden rule? "The most important thing is the taste for sport and having fun."

A huge thank you to Antoine for his kindness and for showing our community that the heart of an athlete is built on passion and fun! 👏
