Latin is alive and thriving at our school! 🌿✨

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the dedication of our Latin students and their teachers through recent achievements.

1️⃣ A Journey into Classical Literature
On March 20th, our 4th and 3rd-grade students participated in the Euroclassica European Latin Reading Festival. After diving deep into the translation of Longus’s Daphnis and Chloe, our students filmed a beautiful recital of the original text to be shared with the European committee. A true bridge between ancient wisdom and modern creativity!

2️⃣ Academic Excellence: Euroclassica Diplomas
Congratulations to our students (from 3rd to 11th grade) who successfully earned their Euroclassica European Latin Diploma. This demanding certification recognizes their hard work and high level of linguistic skill. 🎓📜

Beyond the classroom, Latin is a secret weapon for excellence:
It Sharpens analytical thinking and logic.
Deepens understanding of English and Romance languages.
Builds a rich cultural foundation that helps students navigate our modern world with perspective.

That’s a wrap on the IFS Book Fair! 📖✨

From our youngest learners to our staff and parents, the IFS Book Fair was a massive success. Whether at the Maternelle stands sparking imagination in our littlest readers, or through the Elementary, Secondary, and Teen & Adult selections, everyone had the chance to discover new worlds with treasures for all ages.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised more than S$8,000 for our humanitarian projects! 👏❤️

A Journey Through History: Study Trip to Poland

In March, 28 of our senior students embarked on a profound journey through Poland as part of their Arts and Cultural Education Path (PEAC).

This wasn’t just a trip; it was an immersive study of the history of the Jewish community and the Shoah. Over 8 nights, our students explored 6 key cities: Warsaw, Treblinka, Tykocin, Bialystok, Krakow, and Auschwitz.

From the historical streets of the Warsaw Ghetto to the solemn silence of the Łupochowo Forest and the haunting remains of Auschwitz-Birkenau, they followed the traces of the past to better understand our shared history.

Highlights of the journey included:
The POLIN Museum & the Jewish Historical Institute.
The Tykocin Synagogue and the historic Kazimierz district in Krakow.
The Wieliczka Salt Mines and the Royal City of Krakow.
A moving ceremony of remembrance in the Łupochowo Forest.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their maturity and commitment to this duty of memory. Special thanks to our dedicated teachers, Mr. MASSIS, Mr. ONGARO, and Ms. TASSY, for their guidance. We also extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. SEBBAH, Study Trip Coordinator at the @memorialshoahofficiel , for his invaluable expertise.🕯️✨

Generosity in action: Small hands, big hearts! ❤️🌍

Our CE1 students have done it again! For this year’s annual humanitarian project, our young ambassadors took full charge of their partnership with @itsrainingraincoats to support migrant workers in Singapore. 🇸🇬

From designing flyers and presenting the project in every classroom to the final big sort, they’ve been working like pros! 🎨🎤📦

Mission accomplished: Thanks to your incredible generosity, our students have spent the last few days sorting a massive amount of essential supplies. Beyond the donations, this project taught them the power of teamwork, organization, and—most importantly—solidarity with our local community. 🏗️🤝

Shout-out to the Student Humanitarian Group, who joined our CE1s to give a helping hand with the sorting process. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this project a huge success.

Back to a Cultural Highlight: “Tu, Lei & Lo” 🎨

In March, our school was buzzing with creativity! Our students (from Kindergarten PS to CP) participated in a unique cultural experience as part of the PEAC (Parcours d’Éducation Artistique et Culturelle). The troupe @gipsy_raw performed their show “Tu, Lei & Lo” at Amphi 2900. It was a breathtaking mix of:
💃 Contemporary Dance
⚡️ Acrobatics
🎭 Circus Arts

The adventure didn’t stop at the stage! Our students also took part in dance workshops led by the professionals. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to express themselves through movement and discover the world of performing arts firsthand.

Special thanks to the artists and to Isabelle, our primary PEAC lead, for making this artistic journey possible! ✨Thank you for bringing so much inspiration to our school!

Harmonizing in Ho Chi Minh City! ✨🎶

After having the honor of hosting the Chorasies at IFS for the past two consecutive years, it was time for our singers to pack their bags! From April 6th to 10th, our talented students from IFS Singapore took part in the 9th edition of the Chorasies in Vietnam. It was a journey filled with music, emotion, and cultural exchange that we won’t soon forget. 🇻🇳✈️

🎤 A Night of Musical Magic The stage came alive with a powerful program. Here is a selection of our students’ performances, led by Julie Demange:

The Opening: To open the concert, students from all delegations joined their voices for Forêts Paisibles (from Rameau’s Les Indes Galantes), featuring IFS soloists Camille, Gustave, and Robert, directed by our choir master Julie Demange.
IFS Spotlight: Our choir moved the audience with beautiful renditions of Home by Dick Lee and Somewhere Only We Know by Keane.
Special Duo: A breathtaking transition by Aimée and Alicia, performing Yseult’s Corps.
Grand Finale: To finish, all delegations joined voices for a soul-stirring closing with Ederlezi by Goran Bregovic, featuring two young soloists from our IFS choir, Nina and Yohan, directed by Julie Demange.

We’ve been following Talia’s journey for a while now, and today, we couldn’t be prouder. Our very own student-athlete has officially been called up for the Singapore Women’s National Team! 🦁✨

Talia is currently in Sabah this week, training hard with the squad. Watching her growth from a talented student player to representing the Red & White is a testament to her dedication, discipline, and passion for the game.

Bridging the gap! 🎓✨

Our CM2 students are getting a head start on their journey to secondary school! As part of our Primary-to-Secondary Transition Program, our students have been diving into the world of « big school » through some amazing collaborative workshops.

💡 Maths in Action: The CM2 class welcomed the 6emes students from the Math.en.JEANS club. It was a fantastic peer-to-peer exchange where the older students presented their year-long research projects.

⚡ Science Explorers: Our CM2 students headed to the secondary labs! Under the guidance of Mr. Parthenay, they joined their 6emes counterparts for hands-on physics experiments on electricity.

Special thanks to Mr. Cailton, Ms. Erin-Agot, and Mr. Parthenay for organizing these enriching sessions. There’s no better way to settle future-student nerves than by picking up a beaker or solving a math puzzle in their future classrooms. We are so proud of their curiosity!

Our CE1 students traded their classrooms for the wild with a 24-hour sleepover at the Singapore Night Safari! ⛺️🦁

They learned so much about our planet’s incredible animals and ecosystems while bonding with their classmates. An incredible, « unforgettable » experience for our little explorers! 🌿🐍
