Singing from the Heart & Spreading Joy! 🎶✨

Our IFS Secondary Choir brought music, smiles, and warmth to Singapore General Hospital for MusicFest@SGH 2026! 💛

Performing both inside the hospital and in the serene Healing Garden, our students filled the air with hope and harmony for patients, staff, and visitors. Their eclectic repertoire brought everyone together, from local classics like Dick Lee’s “Bunga Sayang” and “Home”, to the timeless French melody “La Mer”, and even a joyful, high-energy performance of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”! 🎵
We are immensely proud of our students’ dedication, generosity, and musicality, a beautiful reflection of community spirit in action.

A massive thank you to our passionate music teacher, Julie Demange, for her inspiring guidance and leadership, to Fran Ho, our dedicated pianist, and to @singtheatre and @sghseen for making this wonderful event possible.

Get to know Our New Principal, Mr. Samuel Jourdan! 🎓

As we wrap up an exciting first month of the school year, we are delighted to feature our Principal, Mr. Samuel Jourdan, who joined the IFS for this new academic year!

Originally from Brittany, Mr. Jourdan developed a strong international mindset early in life while growing up in Morocco and Canada. A former English and FLE teacher, he brings a wealth of experience from France, Mayotte, and the AEFE network, having served as Vice Principal in Shanghai and Head of School in Cape Town. As a father of two children educated within the AEFE system, he has a deep, first-hand appreciation for the richness of our curriculum.

⚡A Dynamic First Month at IFS! Since taking office, Mr. Jourdan hasn’t missed a beat! Over the past few weeks, he has been fully hands-on, welcoming staff and families for the new term, attending the inauguration of the new EIS programme at our Kindergarten, hosting our first Café Parent, connecting with students during French Passerelle breakfasts, and opening the Lion City International University Fair. His strong presence on campus sets a truly inspiring tone for the entire IFS community!✨

« A great education must go beyond academic rigour; it must actively prepare young people for the realities of the modern world by building their self-confidence. » — Mr. Samuel Jourdan

Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival at IFS! 🥮🐰

Our Kindergarten and Elementary students immersed themselves in the magic of the Mid-Autumn Festival! Through a variety of hands-on activities, our young learners discovered the rich traditions, stories, and flavors of this celebration.

From shaping mooncakes and crafting custom decorations to crushing medicinal herbs with mortars like the Jade Rabbit and diving into Chinese folklore, our students developed their artistic skills while fully immersing themselves in this rich tradition.

What makes this approach so special at IFS is that learning goes far beyond books. By celebrating cultural diversity through fun, interactive play, our students don’t just discover a new culture, they also develop crucial manual and cognitive competencies along the way!

A big thank you to our passionate teachers and enthusiastic students for bringing so much color, creativity, and joy to our campus this week! 💛

« La langue est quelque chose de vivant : pour la faire vivre, non seulement il faut la pratiquer, mais aussi en étant à Singapour c’est très important que les enfants soient imprégnés de la culture locale (chinoise). Cela leur permet aussi d’avoir l’esprit très ouvert. La logique de la langue Chinoise est complètement différente de celle de la langue française, cela exerce l’esprit et apporte de la richesse. » Mandarin teacher at IFS

« S’ouvrir aux traditions des autres, c’est enrichir sa propre vision du monde. »
