IFS Day – Part 2/2 🌍
One post was not enough to capture the richness of IFS Day, so here is the second part of our cultural journey around the world.
Once again, a huge thank you to all the families and community members who shared their traditions, stories, music, dances and flavors with our students. Your passion and generosity truly made this day unforgettable.
IFS Day is more than an event — it is a living reflection of our values: openness, respect, curiosity and learning through experience. 💙🌍

💙🌍 IFS Day Part 1/2 – A Celebration of Diversity, Community and Joy! 💙🌍
IFS Day was an unforgettable moment for our whole school community! The day took place in an incredible, joyful atmosphere, made possible thanks to the amazing involvement and commitment of our parents and the entire IFS community.
A total of 30 stands were set up:
France, China, Brazil, Bangladesh, Australia, Morocco, Canada, India, Spain, Chile, Taiwan, Greece, Mexico, Egypt, Germany, USA, Indonesia, Tunisia, Czech Republic, Guatemala, Korea, Portugal, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Algeria, Hong Kong, and Lebanon.
Each stand was beautifully prepared with traditional costumes, written materials on history, gifts and discoveries, flags, games and decorations, and delicious culinary specialties to showcase the traditions, origins, and cultures.
Our students from CP, CE1, CE2, CM1 and CM2 visited the stands in rotation with a special passport created for the occasion. At every stop, they learned about a new culture and had their passport stamped, turning learning into a real journey around the world. ✈️
IFS Day truly reflects the joy, cultural diversity, and spirit of our community, as well as our school’s philosophy of learning while having fun. It was a unique and meaningful experience for everyone, and one that will definitely be renewed next year! 🌟
Our sincere thanks and congratulations to all organizers, Johanna Boutard, the Parents’ Committee, and a huge thank you to the more than 100 parent volunteers who gave their heart and soul to make this day a success and a true celebration of multiculturalism, filled with joy, music, dance, and meaningful moments of sharing.

Our CE2 students explored Chinatown as part of a cultural and artistic outing 🌏🎨
They began their journey by wandering through the vibrant streets of Chinatown, stopping to observe the colourful murals 🖼️ that bring this historic district to life.
They then visited the Singapore City Gallery, where they discovered how the city has evolved through interactive exhibitions and impressive urban models.
The visit concluded at the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple 🛕, an iconic landmark of Buddhist culture, where students learned about spiritual traditions and admired the remarkable architecture.
Our Kindergarten students from Moyenne Section also enjoyed their own visit, discovering Chinatown through their own eyes and at their own pace.
Taking place just before Chinese New Year, this enriching experience offered our students a wonderful opportunity to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere while connecting art, culture, and heritage. A meaningful and memorable learning adventure outside the classroom! ✨

From practice to success. 🧪
In the classroom: precision.
During the exams: confidence.
Earlier this year, our Terminale students successfully carried out the full synthesis of aspirin (acide acétylsalicylique) in their Physics-Chemistry lab among other practical work and classes.
A perfect reminder that they have the skills, the method and the mindset needed for the baccalauréat blanc - Mock exams this week.
Good luck to all our Terminales, you’ve already proven you can go all the way. 🍀

It’s a wrap for the first school trip of the year to Bintan! 🌴✨
Our CM2 students enjoyed an unforgettable adventure filled with discovery, teamwork and fun. From racing traditional jong boats and building sandcastles, to taking part in Olympiads (shoe-skiing, basketball, football, pétanque and archery), every moment was packed with excitement.
They explored a fishing village and learned how to build traditional fish traps, visited a local heritage museum, created papier-mâché using marine plants, and investigated coastal ecosystems through water quality experiments.
Highlights also included raft building and races, kayaking and dragon boat rides, local cooking workshops, coconut tree climbing, mangrove night cruises to observe fireflies ✨, and magical evenings around the campfire with music and grilled marshmallows.
A beautiful way to start the year: learning beyond the classroom and creating lifelong memories. 💙

Radio Horizons Démocratiques – Webradio Project 🎙️
As part of their EMC course, four Terminales students worked on a webradio project focusing on democracy in Asia.
Valentine, Charlotte, Louis and Charles produced two podcasts: one about Sri Lanka and one about Myanmar. For the Myanmar topic, they chose a creative format in the form of a fictional interview.
A great example of how our students engage with global issues while developing media and critical thinking skills. 👏 Well done to them!

IFS Students in Action: A Commitment to Solidarity 🌱
On Saturday 24 January, a group of students and teachers from IFS dedicated their time to support @willinghearts_sg , a local charity that prepares and distributes over 10,000 meals every day to the most vulnerable members of the Singapore community.
This meaningful initiative followed a conference held on Friday 16 January on careers in humanitarian work and philanthropy, organised in collaboration with the IFS Orientation team and with the participation of Ms Armelle Le Comte. Inspired by this exchange, our students turned ideas into action.
A special mention goes to Camila and Sumi, members of the Student Humanitarian Group, who fully orchestrated the project, from the initial conference to the on-site volunteering day. An inspiring example of leadership, commitment, and initiative. 👏
Our warm thanks also go to our colleagues Ms Larrieu and Ms Bocquet for accompanying and supporting the students during this solidarity action. 🙏
💙 We are extremely proud of the students’ engagement, seriousness, and generosity, a true reflection of the IFS values.

🎓🎉 Brevet Graduation Ceremony – Class of 2025
IFS had the pleasure of celebrating our former 3ème students, now in Seconde, during a joyful Brevet Diploma Graduation Ceremony at Amphi 3000.
As a reminder, the Class of 2025 achieved outstanding results at the Brevet exam, with a 100% pass rate and over 75% of students awarded a High Distinction, reflecting the excellence and commitment of this cohort.
The ceremony took place in a warm and festive atmosphere, with individual and group photos capturing this special milestone. We were honoured by the presence of Mr Binan, Principal, Mr Sylvain Naulin, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Action, who personally handed each student their diploma, as well as Mrs Allonas, Vice-Principal, and our teachers, who shared encouraging words with their students.
The celebration continued with a snack in the Secondary cafeteria, giving everyone the opportunity to celebrate this success together. All students were delighted to mark the end of this important chapter.
💬 « Que cette nouvelle année soit une année d’élan, de confiance et de réussite. » – Mr Binan, addressing the students during his speech to inspire them for their future Baccalaureate.
👏 Congratulations once again to our graduates, their families, and the entire IFS community.
Thank you to our teachers, Secondary Student Services, and all staff for their continued support and dedication in making this event a success.

Korea–Singapore Musical Exchange at IFS 🇰🇷🇸🇬🎶
What an unforgettable moment it was to welcome the Gijang Youth Recorder Ensemble from Korea, conducted by Mr. Han Kyung-min, to our campus this January 2026!
As part of a rich cultural exchange, the orchestra and the IFS secondary choir collaborated in a 2h workshop, creating a beautiful fusion of voices and instruments that filled the space with music and emotion. 🌟
Highlights from the session included:
🎵 A wonderful performance by the Gijang Youth Recorder Ensemble
🎵 A collaborative segment where our choir sang alongside the ensemble, on “Bunga Sayang”.
This inspiring encounter truly celebrated the universal language of music, while nurturing friendship, creativity, and cross-cultural understanding among our young musicians.
Thank you to our head of music teacher Julie Demange and Fran Ho who made this musical journey so special, memories that will resonate for a long time to come.

A Special Visit from the French Women’s Rugby Sevens Team at IFS! 🇫🇷🏉
the International French School had the honour of welcoming the French Women’s Rugby Sevens team for the second consecutive year, as part of our Girls’ Rugby ECA, supervised by Remi Benaiges and Paul Foden.
Ahead of the HSBC Singapore Sevens tournament, the team held a high-level training session on our campus, followed by a special exchange with our students. Our Girls’ Rugby ECA participants had the unique opportunity to train alongside elite athletes, take part in rugby workshops, enjoy a mini match, and share moments of discussion, photos, and autographs.
The visit also included a recovery session using IFS facilities, highlighting the professionalism and commitment of these world-class players.
This inspiring afternoon perfectly reflects our dedication to promoting girls’ sports, excellence, and international sporting connections, while motivating our students through real-life role models.
A huge thank you to Annaëlle Blanchet and the entire French Women’s Sevens team for their generosity, energy, and inspiration. 🌟

A Milestone Moment for IFS! ✨
On Thursday, January 22, 2026, we proudly celebrated the official inauguration of our Campus Extension & New Kindergarten. The ceremony, presided over by H.E. Mr. Stephen Marchisio @stephen_march , French Ambassador to Singapore, marked an important milestone for our school community.
The event was a great success, featuring inspiring speeches from President of the Executive Committee Ludovic Mathe and Principal Mr. Binan, a beautiful performance of the IFS anthem by our secondary choir led by our head of music Julie Demange, followed by Home.
The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the commemorative plaque, after which guests explored the new facilities and eco-friendly Villa Concept Kindergarten during a networking cocktail.
It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate together and showcase the uniqueness of this project, which promises a bright future for our young learners at IFS.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all partners, sponsors, staff members, and members of the IFS community whose commitment and support made this project and this inauguration possible.
