🌱 Students Taking Action for a More Sustainable Future 👕
Four Terminale students launched an inspiring project as part of their Education for Sustainable Development (EDD) and Moral & Civic Education (EMC) curriculum.
👉 Promoting recycling, creativity, and solidarity across our school community.
As part of this initiative, they organized a clothing collection, inviting high school students to donate clean, unused clothes and give them a second life.
They then worked with our CE1 primary students to transform these items, along with recyclable materials such as cardboard and fabric scraps, into eco-friendly fashion pieces, celebrating imagination and sustainable thinking ♻️🎨
This project was a wonderful opportunity to:
✔️ Raise awareness about recycling and environmental responsibility
✔️ Encourage creativity through reuse
✔️ Strengthen the bond between primary and high school students
« Recycler, c’est donner une seconde vie aux objets et aux idées. »
A great example of students leading positive change within our community 🌍💚

Learning Beyond the Classroom 📚🔥
Our 4ème Latin students took part in a unique and enriching educational outing to the Hell’s Museum at Haw Par Villa, organised by Ms Carole Bocquet and Ms Larrieu.
The visit explored representations of the Underworld in Chinese mythology, giving students the opportunity to observe, question, and reflect on how different cultures depict the afterlife. This immersive experience allowed them to compare the Chinese Underworld with the Roman Underworld studied in their Latin classes.
By stepping outside the classroom, students deepened their understanding of mythology while developing critical thinking and cross-cultural awareness through direct observation and discussion.
A meaningful learning experience where history, culture, and curiosity came together. 🏛️🐉

Last week, we welcomed Alban Perrin, historian and specialist in Holocaust studies, for a conference with students on Les Cahiers d’Alter.
This conference marked the first in a series of events organised within the PEAC (Parcours d’Éducation Artistique et Culturelle) programme.
Students explored the testimony of Alter Fajnzylberg, gaining insight into the history of Auschwitz, the role of the Sonderkommando, and the importance of preserving memory.
The open session on Friday 9 January was moderated by two Terminale students, Ava and Leopold, highlighting the role of younger generations in the transmission of history. Congratulations to them for their poise, engagement, and maturity in leading this important session.
Further workshops are coming soon, and two classes will take part in a study trip to Auschwitz and Krakow in March.
We thank Alban Perrin for his contribution, as well as the teaching staff involved in this PEAC project, Olivier Massis, and the teachers who placed their trust in Alban Perrin by welcoming him into their classrooms: Marie Julie Cabibel-Tassy, Xavier Ongaro, Cecilia Bordas and Maxime Pilon.

Walking the halls of IFS once again 🎓💙
We were delighted to welcome back Anne-Sophie (Class of 2024) on campus.
Coming back to IFS, where she grew up and shaped so many memories, was a moment filled with emotion and joy for her, a true reminder that IFS is more than a school, it’s a community that stays with you for life.
In this interview, Anne-Sophie shares her favorite subjects at IFS, especially English, and reflects on how completing the French International Baccalaureate (BFI) played a key role in preparing her for higher education. She also highlights how learning Mandarin at IFS has been a real asset and continues to support her throughout her university studies today.
After graduating from IFS, Anne-Sophie continued her academic journey in France and is now in her second year at ESSEC Business School in Cergy, where she is pursuing a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration). Thriving in this new chapter, she expressed how happy she was to return to the place where she grew up, learned, and built strong foundations for her future.

CE1 Sports Day: Learning Through Movement! ✨🏃♀️
Throwback to our CE1 students who enjoyed an energetic and joyful Sports Day filled with fun, teamwork, and challenges! 💪🎯
Throughout the day, they took part in a variety of engaging activities such as Upside Down Caterpillar, Shuttle Puzzle or Pipeline Train. Each game encouraged cooperation, coordination, and lots of smiles! 😄
Beyond the fun, this Sports Day was a wonderful opportunity for our students to stay active both physically and mentally. 🧠⚡
They had to think, strategize, solve problems, and communicate with their teammates while moving, running, balancing, and pushing their limits. A perfect balance of body and mind in action!
A great reminder that learning also happens through play, movement, and shared experiences. 🌟👏

A Morning of Imagination and Fun at the Alliance Française! 🎨📚💫
IFS 6eme and 5eme French Passerelle students had a wonderful time visiting the Alliance Française before the holidays. Accompanied by their teachers, Ms. Debove, Ms. Leteissier, and Mr. Da Silva, the students explored the exhibition “IMAGINAIRE – Once Upon a Toy”, celebrating games, toys, and childhood memories.
They were warmly welcomed in the Media Library, where a fun guessing game about comic book heroes and children’s books awaited them. A scavenger hunt gave them the chance to discover the exhibition in an interactive way, and then later, they were given a time to play a round of the famous French game, Werewolves of Thiercelieux.
A big thank you to the @afsingapour team for making this moment so enjoyable and memorable! 📸 Swipe to see some highlights.

A Festive Piñata Celebration at IFS! 🎉🇪🇸
In December, our students at IFS enjoyed a joyful and colorful Piñata Event, bringing a touch of Spanish and Latin American tradition into our school community.
Organised with our 4emes students and led by Mrs Da Silva, the event took place alongside Mrs Alvarez and Mrs Rodríguez Valero, creating moments filled with laughter, excitement, and shared cultural discovery.
Beyond the fun, this event was a meaningful learning experience. Through the piñata tradition, students explored its historical origins, its place in Spanish and Latin American celebrations, and the values it represents: sharing, cooperation, patience, and community spirit. Learning by doing allowed our students to better understand culture in a concrete and joyful way, proving that learning is most powerful when it is playful 🎓
A big thank you to our teachers and students for making this event such a memorable experience. Moments like these truly bring learning to life! 💫🎊

Safety First: Wear a Helmet! 🪖🚲
As part of their Moral and Civic Education (EMC) course, one of our Terminale students, Teresa, supervised by Ms. Chomienne, created a 2-minute awareness video to highlight the importance of wearing a helmet when cycling.
This student-led initiative is a powerful reminder that simple actions can save lives. By promoting road safety and responsible behavior, our students actively contribute to building a safer community for everyone.
👏 A big congratulations to our student for this meaningful project, and thank you to the school leadership for supporting the sharing of this message as we start the new term.

Learning Sustainability Through Action ♻️🌍
As part of their Civic Education project on Sustainable Development (EMC – EDD), five Terminale students led an inspiring initiative with two CE1 classes 💚
Their goal?
👉 Raise awareness about recycling and reusing paper in a fun and hands-on way!
During these workshops, paper waste collected from the school’s recycling bins was transformed into recycled paper, giving it a second life ✨
The students also created beautiful Christmas decorations, combining creativity with environmental responsibility 🎄
A wonderful example of collaboration, peer learning, and eco-conscious action, proving that even small gestures can make a big difference 🌱
👏 Well done to our Terminale students Noémie, Audrey, Thomas, Emma and Celeste for their commitment and to our CE1 students for their enthusiasm!
