🌍 Earth Week at IFS: What a Week! 🌿
Over several days, students and teachers came together for a series of inspiring eco-actions:
✨ @guillaumelecantinier and his Anti-Waste Team, with a new anti-waste fridge set up thanks to @natixis_corp
✨ @telunas_resorts and the @fondationtaraocean exhibition, raising awareness about protecting our oceans
✨ @decathlonsg, who came to repair students’ and staff’s bikes — thank you, what would we do without you?
✨ @plasticodyssey, sharing the second chapter of their adventures around the world and hosting a great discussion
A special thank you to Fanny De Pra, our SVT teacher, who quite literally crossed the entire campus all week to support these brilliant initiatives.
A week full of energy, engagement and inspiration. Thank you to everyone involved — let’s keep the momentum going after the holidays! 🌱✨

🏅 Highlights from the 4ème students Olympiads at IFS! 🏅
A fantastic day of sports brought together our 4ème students for a series of activities including Aquathlon, volleyball, capture the flag and dodgeball.
There was a ranking for each activity, as well as an overall ranking, rewarding the teams who scored the highest number of points across all disciplines. 👏
✨ Congratulations to all the students for their commitment, enthusiasm and great sportsmanship, and a big thank you to the sport teachers for their support throughout the day.
👏 A special thank you to Christophe Lorentz and the 1ère sports Option students, who brilliantly planned and organised the event.
🔥 Big shoutout to class 4A for taking the top spot in the overall ranking! Well done everyone for creating such an amazing, positive and collective sporting atmosphere! 💪🎉

📚✨ Authors’ Visit and Young Readers’ Vote at IFS!
As part of the Prix des Incorruptibles, we had the pleasure of welcoming two French authors:
📖 Bernard Villiot
📖 Jean-Luc Marcastel
They shared with our students how stories come to life, where inspiration originates, how characters are developed, and how long it really takes to write a book.
Our students asked questions, shared their own ideas, and imagined how they would have written the stories!
✨ Meanwhile, our Kindergarten students voted for their favourite book from this year’s selection. They learned how an election works: choosing a ballot, stepping into the booth, placing it in the ballot box and signing the register, a moment taken very seriously by our little voters!

✨ 3ème Students’ Shophouse Exhibition — Completed! ✨
A few weeks ago, we shared a glimpse of their work in progress… and now, their beautiful clay shophouses are finished and on display!
After drawing their ideas using perspective, our students brought them to life in 3D, working alongside Lynn Teo, a third-generation Singaporean potter, and learning slab building techniques in clay.
And the clever detail: these little shophouses are also tealight holders!
A creative, thoughtful project celebrating both local architectural heritage and hands-on artistic skills.
Congratulations to our talented young artists — what a wonderful exhibition!

🎶 ChorAsie 2025 – When Freedom Finds Its Voice 🎤
110 students from the French schools in @lyceefrancaisdebali, @lfimargueriteduras, @lyceefrancaisdekualalumpur came together at IFS for an inspiring musical project: ChorAsies.
Focusing on the theme of freedom, they explored a diverse and challenging repertoire—from Coldplay and George Michael to Michel Berger, Daniel Balavoine, and Nina Simone—culminating in a dynamic one-hour concert brimming with energy and emotion.
The students were also fortunate to attend a vocal workshop with international jazz singer @alemayzing, to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks for her generosity and time.

🎼 @Julie Demange- Wodtke, IFS music teacher, whose passion and dedication made this project possible. Without her, the music simply wouldn’t have resonated the same way. 💫

We were blown away by the incredible bookmarks created during Book Week!
We already knew our students were talented… but just look at these – they’re absolutely stunning 🎨
With so much creativity on display, it was truly impossible to choose just one winner per year group – the decision was a real challenge!
So, we’ve selected 10 winners per level, along with a special “Judge’s Favourite” award ❤️
🎁 Each winner receives a book prize to keep their love of reading going strong.

🏅 CM2 Athletics Day – A fantastic day of sport at IFS!
Our CM2 students took to the track for a dynamic and festive day of athletics: races, jumps, throws, team games… and even a final relay featuring teachers and parents!
💪 The students showed great talent, effort and team spirit. A huge well done to them, and to the enthusiastic supporters who brought the energy all day long!

🎨 A Chair for a Painting – Creativity in 3eme ! 🪑
Our 3eme students took on a unique artistic challenge:
they were tasked with designing a chair inspired by a painting—famous or lesser-known—and presenting it alongside the original artwork.
The results are stunning – beautiful and imaginative pieces that showcase our students’ incredible talent and creativity.
👏 Well done to them, and a big thank you to our art teachers for their outstanding guidance and support!

🏆 COUPE DU MEKONG 2025 🏆
Organised by the Lycée Français Alexandre Yersin in Hanoi, the COUPE DU MEKONG 2025 was a sports, educational, and school event for ECA students in 5ème, 4ème and 3ème.
The competitions included: Aquathlon 🏊♂️🚴♀️, Korfball 🏀, Torball (disability sport) 🤾♂️, MTB Orienteering 🚴, Run and Bike 🏃♂️🚴♀️, and artistic performance 🎭.
Participants also had the chance to discover Flag Football, a new sport included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games ⚽.
The event concluded with a cultural evening featuring local artistic performances. 🎶
A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event in Hanoi a success! 💪

🎒 Latinists on a field trip: meeting the gods!
The Latin students were lucky to take part in a fascinating and eye-opening outing, brilliantly guided by Singapore expert Arianne Nabarro @singapourseine.
Many thanks to Mrs Bocquet and Mrs Larrieu for organising this unique cultural journey!
The aim? To explore comparative religion through the lens of Greco-Roman and Hindu pantheons: Cronos and Brahma, Dionysus and Shiva, Athena and Sarasvati…
A rich dialogue between mythologies to better understand divine representations.
Students also explored the striking similarities between rituals—libations, offerings, incense—showing how symbolism can transcend time and cultures.
They also studied architecture as a sacred language of its own.
An inspiring experience blending ancient languages with living cultures ✨
