The International French School (Singapore) is honoured to welcome Mundiya Kepanga, customary chief of the Huli people of Papua New Guinea and a globally recognised advocate for the protection of primary forests.

Raised in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, Chief Mundiya has become one of the world’s most powerful Indigenous voices for environmental protection. Through his travels across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, he shares the wisdom of his people and calls on audiences to rethink humanity’s relationship with nature and the forests that sustain life on Earth.

His work has received numerous international distinctions, including awards from Greenpeace, and he has shared his message alongside global figures such as Pope Francis, Robert Redford, Prince Albert II of Monaco, and former UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova.

Join us for a powerful evening featuring the film “Guardians of the Forest” screening, followed by a live Q&A with Chief Mundiya, offering a rare opportunity to hear directly from an Indigenous leader dedicated to protecting the world’s remaining primary forests.

This inspiring event invites the IFS community to reflect on our connection with nature and the role each of us can play in safeguarding our planet.
