🌱 Cultivating Wonder on the IFS Rooftop Garden! 🌍

At IFS, learning goes far beyond the traditional classroom! As a new school year unfolds, our Kindergarten students (Petite, Moyenne, and Grande Section) continue to explore nature firsthand on our rooftop garden, diving into the world of permaculture and sustainability.

Guided by our dedicated teachers and permaculture expert Mr. Thomas Charrette, our young eco-explorers engage in hands-on activities that foster respect for our planet:
🎨 Mud Stencil Art: Feeling natural textures, playing with mud, and creating art with raw materials.
🔍 Mini-Beast Safari: Observing Singapore’s local insects, caterpillars, and snails with magnifying glasses, learning to handle living creatures with care and curiosity.
🌱 Planting for the Future: Learning how seeds sprout, potting their own plants, and bringing them home to nurture with their families.
♻️ Feeding the Soil: Discovering the magic of composting and enriching our rooftop garden beds.

Through experiential learning, our early learners develop a deep connection to local flora and fauna, laying the foundation for lifelong environmental stewardship. 🌍💚

Huge hearts, big spirits, and endless energy! ✨

When our Kindergarteners come together for Sports Day, it’s all about movement, smiles, and friendly competition. They might be small, but they definitely gave it their all! 🏃‍♂️🏅

Our youngest athletes in PS and MS had an amazing time building their skills through fun station games, laughter, and teamwork. 🎈🧩

Meanwhile, our GS champions took it to the next level with a mini-triathlon! They splashed through the pool, pedaled like pros around the track, and sprinted all the way to the finish line. 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

A massive round of applause to all our little athletes for their incredible effort and sportsmanship! 👏❤️

Student Spotlight: Bullseye for Gabin! 🏹🎯

This year again, Gabin proudly represented IFS at the 15th National Inter-School Archery Championship (April 2026).

As a major highlight of Singapore’s archery calendar, the tournament brought together more than 100 fierce competitors from schools across the island, many of which train in archery as a core sport! Despite the tough competition, Gabin fought hard and successfully improved his ranking compared to last year. 💪

Beyond the scores, it was a beautiful, joyful day celebrating the chivalrous spirit of archery alongside passionate young athletes.

Architects in the making!🏗️

This year, our 5e students stepped into the shoes of the legendary Antoni Gaudí!
As part of our Gaudí Project, commemorating the centenary of his passing this year, we had the honor of welcoming Catalan architect Joan Capdevila for an exclusive, hands-on workshop.

📐 After a quick plunge into the theory, the classroom turned into a design studio. The challenge? Understanding and building a catenary curve (the natural curve formed by a hanging chain).

📎 Working collaboratively, the students used simple paper clips to replicate the exact model-making technique Gaudí used to design his architectural masterpieces, including the iconic Sagrada Família!

IFS ATHLETIC WIN • Congratulations to Gaspar! 🎉

Huge congrats to Gaspar Sousa Lobo (4E) for an incredible athletic achievement! 🧗‍♂️🏆
In May 2026, Gaspar took home 3rd place at the Spark Bouldering competition in the Youth C Boys (13-14 year olds) category! 🥉🇸🇬

The Spark Bouldering Carnival is an exciting annual competition organized for young climbers in Singapore by Lighthouse Climbing. Standing on the podium in such a competitive field is a huge accomplishment!

🤝 IFS x GESS: A successful partnership and a perfect wrap-up!

Last semester, 8 of our IFS students learning German spent two amazing days at the @gess_internationalschool .

On the agenda: 🗣️ Practicing German in real-life situations 📚 Attending classes with their buddies 🌍 Discovering a brand-new school system and atmosphere The verdict? Our students loved every single bit of it (especially the stunning campus and the canteen! 😋).

🚀 Bringing it full circle!
To beautifully wrap up this exchange program, we were thrilled to welcome 30 GESS students to our campus on June 17th! Our 5ème LVB German students hosted their GESS counterparts, who are currently learning French.

The day was packed with connection and smiles: 🥐 A warm welcome breakfast at the collège canteen to fuel up for the day. 📸 Vibrant group photos right before everyone marched off to explore and walk around the IFS campus together.

This successful exchange follows the equally fantastic visit of GESS students to IFS back in March. We love seeing our international community thrive and grow together!

IFS Champion Spotlight! 🇯🇵🏆

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our amazing CM2 students, Ceon, who achieved an outstanding milestone by becoming the National Champion at the All Japan Jr Squash Championships 2026 (Girls U11 category)! 🥇✨

Ceon’s journey to the title was nothing short of spectacular. After progressing steadily to the final, she found herself pushed to the edge, losing the first two games against a formidable opponent. Demonstrating incredible resilience, mental strength, and determination, Ceon fought her way back to win the next three games in a row, securing a remarkable comeback victory! 👏💪

This national title reflects more than three years of consistent effort, hard work, and dedication, including training six days a week since switching from badminton to squash.

Ceon chose to register under the International French School (IFS) banner, proudly carrying our school’s name to the top of the podium in Japan! 🏫❤️

« La vague du Changement » Sustainability in Action at IFS!🌊

The IFS community recently celebrated the conclusion of our grand Secondary Eco-Contest and officially inaugurated the meaningful project: « The Wave of Change » (« La vague du changement »). 🌊🌱

The event kicked off in front of the stunning new fresco before moving near the athletics track for the symbolic planting of a tree. A commemorative plaque featuring the names of the students from the winning classes is now proudly installed in front of it!

An Incredible Student Mobilization:
This comprehensive project engaged our students through 4 eco-responsible pillars:
Creativity: Nearly 500 drawings were created by our students to bring this unique fresco to life!
Solidarity: A massive bottle cap collection to fund a dedicated stand at the School Fair. 🧴
Action & Knowledge: 100% eco-responsible class projects and general knowledge quizzes on biodiversity. 🧠

We extend our warmest thanks to Mr. Benoit VAYRE (Technology Teacher and Sustainability & Biodiversity Coordinator). Thank you for your unwavering commitment, leadership, and the inspiration you pass on to our students to drive real change. 🏆 IFS CM2 Football Tournament: What a finale! ⚽️✨

The school year ended on a high note on soccer field 2900! Our CM2 classes faced off in an epic tournament featuring mixed teams of boys and girls showing incredible team spirit.

Huge congratulations to CM2 F for taking home the championship title! 🥇🏆 But honestly, every single class competed super well and left everything on the field.

A massive thank you to the IFS PE Department for organizing this amazing event. It was the perfect way to wrap up the year with sportsmanship, hard training, and tons of fun! ☀️👏

An Unforgettable Masterclass at IFS with Alexandre Bloch! 🎻

In May this year, we had the incredible opportunity to welcome internationally renowned French conductor @alexandrebloch to IFS for an inspiring exchange with the talented students of Mrs. Nathalie Nguyen’s orchestra!

Our students were thrilled to be conducted by Mr. Bloch, practicing techniques and playing full pieces together. They also enjoyed a Q&A session about his journey from youth orchestras to the global stage.

His beautiful message to our students: Every path is unique, and you can always reinvent yourself. He encouraged them to pursue what they love, reminding them that conducting is about the power of the individual within a collective.

He explained that music goes beyond the baton, it requires body language, deep technical mastery (solfège, harmony), and understanding the history of the composers. He shared his joy in conducting young musicians and traveling to discover new cultures.

A huge thank you to our dedicated music teachers and Mrs. Nathalie Nguyen for making this deeply inspiring encounter possible. Our students left with stars in their eyes! 🌟
