Conference: The Battle of Images – Is the News Bulletin Still Essential?
Tuesday 21 April

EVENT OVERVIEW
When it was first created in the 1950s, the television news bulletin was one of the only accessible sources of information – a daily ritual for families across France. Today, with the rise of social media and 24-hour news cycles, the role of the traditional “JT” is being called into question.
To discuss this evolution, IFS is delighted to welcome Anne-Claire Poignard, a Hong Kong-based journalist for France Télévisions and former news presenter for Télématin on France 2.
An experienced field reporter, Anne-Claire has produced reports worldwide and won the 2019 Prix Varenne for her moving report, “Smiles of Hope,” filmed in Bamako, Mali.
