Heading into the weekend on a sweet note, thanks to our Grande Section bakers! ✨🍰
Our students enjoyed a delightful moment in our brand-new cooking space at the IFS Kindergarten!
Specially designed for our young learners, this new kitchen has all the equipments they need to cook and learn in full confidence: large work surfaces, child-friendly sinks, and utensils adapted to their little hands.
As they prepared delicious vanilla cakes with chocolate chips to celebrate their classmates’ birthdays, our little chefs learned much more than just baking.
They worked as a team, helping one another and switching roles, looking at the recipe, measuring ingredients, mixing carefully, cracking eggs (without too many shells).
Through this fun and hands-on activity, our students developed essential skills such as cooperation, coordination, and early numeracy, all while sharing smiles and sweet aromas of freshly baked cake.

Thriving in a Multilingual Education: IFS Students Learning Mandarin along with French & English 👩🏫
At IFS, students develop their skills in Mandarin, alongside French and English from the early years. This year, our young learners will spend more time learning Mandarin, giving them increasing opportunities to dive into the language and culture.
They are already learning practical skills such as:
Differentiating genders (“I am a girl” - “I am a boy”)
Introducing themselves and sharing their age
Asking and answering simple questions such as “What’s your name?”
Writing dates - reproducing Chinese characters
With smaller class sizes, our teachers can focus more closely on each child, adapting the pace and learning approach to meet individual needs. This personalized attention helps students grow in confidence, curiosity, and joy for learning.

An Unforgettable Cultural Journey to Vietnam! 🇻🇳
For the first time this year, our Seconde students embarked on a memorable trip to Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta, a brand-new destination for students at IFS!
From exploring the bustling streets of Saigon through a fun city scavenger hunt, to visiting the War Museum and the local Market, every moment was a chance to discover Vietnam’s rich history and culture.
They learned how to cook authentic Vietnamese dishes 👩🍳, took part in food tastings, and even practiced Viet Vo Dao. 🥋
Students also attended an inspiring conference on the role of women in Vietnamese history and society, deepening their understanding of the country’s social culture.
In the Mekong Delta, our students navigated the mangroves by boat and bicycle, met local schoolchildren, and enjoyed beautiful moments of music and cultural exchange in Vinh Long.🚲
A journey filled with discovery, connection, and unforgettable memories! 💛

Happy Diwali from IFS! 🪔
As we celebrate the Festival of Lights, we are proud to share a unique artwork created specially for our community.
This year, we had the honour of welcoming Vijaya and Mohan, the Guinness World Record holders for the Largest Rangoli Pattern (2756 sq. ft)! They crafted an incredible Rangoli at our reception, featuring the IFS logo, a glowing candle, and a beautiful lotus flower, symbols of light, knowledge, and new beginnings. 🌸
Our students also joined in the celebration! They explored Diwali traditions through creative activities, designing their own Rangolis, decorating candles, dressing up in traditional attire, and attending a special Diwali presentation. 💫
May this Diwali bring brightness, joy, and togetherness to all!

Discovering the Colors and Culture of Little India 🇮🇳 🪔
Ahead of Deepavali, our CE2 students set out on a vibrant learning journey through Little India, right here in Singapore!
Following a cultural trail, they explored the colorful streets, visited the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, admired stunning murals, and wandered through the bustling market filled with spices and flowers. 🌸🌶️
Along the way, they learned about Hindu gods and traditions, asked questions to locals and temple monks, and observed the many symbols and statues that tell the story of Indian heritage. 🕉️
Their adventure ended near the Indian Heritage Centre, where they gathered materials and reflections for their activity booklet, a perfect way to connect classroom learning with real-world discovery. 🕌✏️

A poetic and ecological tale at IFS 🌿
Our Amphitheatre became a stage for imagination and reflection as students from CE1 to CM2, parents, and staff attended “L’Enfant de l’Arbre”, a theatrical and musical tale by the Compagnie Lé La. 🎭
This visual, poetic, and philosophical story follows a young boy who lives in harmony with his tree, until the water runs out. On a quest to save his friend, he journeys into the world of humans and, through his innocent eyes, questions the paradoxes and absurdities of our modern society. 💧
Through music, movement, and storytelling, the play offered our students a moment of beauty, wonder, and reflection on the fragile bond between humanity and nature. 🌱

Democracy, Right from Primary School! 🗳️
At IFS, democracy isn’t just taught, it’s practiced. Recently, our CM2 students conducted their own class delegate elections, putting into action one of the core values of French education: engagement and representation. 💬
Through public speaking and debate, our young learners discovered what it means to listen, convince, and collaborate, all while practicing democratic citizenship in action. 🤝

Art Meets Imagination at IFS! 🎨
This week, our Kindergarten (Grande Section) students had the wonderful opportunity to meet Christian Voltz, a French artist, illustrator, sculptor, engraver, and children’s author.
During his visit, the young artists took part in a creative workshop inspired by his unique artistic style, crafting self-portraits using everyday materials such as screws, bits of string, and small found objects. 🧵
Starting from a blank page, they carefully selected their materials, assembled their creations, and then transferred their artwork onto coloured paper to bring their portraits to life.
Through this hands-on experience, our students learned to see beauty in simplicity, to express themselves freely, and to transform ordinary objects into extraordinary art, just like true artists! 🌟
