The City of the Future

Thursday, 19 December 2019

Gigantic towers, flying cars, “green” buildings, robots, connected services…

Imagining the city of the future has been a fabulous opportunity for IFS students to tackle real-world urban problems; reflect on urban life of tomorrow; and be creative in dreaming up imaginative solutions to overpopulation, environmental and many other issues facing cities today.

This vast educational project, carried out in 2019 by elementary and secondary school students, involved many different subject areas. Modern languages (French, Spanish, Mandarin, German),  Arts, Mathematics, History-Geography, Life and Earth Sciences, Physics-Chemistry, Technology, Music Education and Documentation.

The students were able to develop their knowledge and understanding of environmental, architectural, energy and social issues related to urbanisation by working on the model City of the Future.

Thanks to the collaboration among the IFS, the Embassy of France and the Science Centre Singapore, the model our students have constructed entitled, “The City of the Future” will be open to the public at the Science Centre until 31st January 2020.

We are very happy with the success of this educational project and proud of our student’s imaginative and creative work.

We invite you to visit and experience this model at the Science Center until the end of January.
