Welcome back to school everyone! Here’s the back-to-school message from our Principal Mr. Christian Soulard.
English Translation
Good morning to all of you and an excellent start to the 2019-2020 school year to all the students who will be entering the International French School (Singapore).
My name is Christian Soulard, I am the Principal of the Lycée, and I am very happy to welcome you all to this new school year. I am thinking particularly of the new students who are joining us for the first time this year. I think they are probably a little intimidated to join this large school in Asia.
I welcome them and hope they will adapt very quickly to our rhythm and our school.
Last year opening up to other communities was part of our discussions and strategy and the school is becoming more international as we open up to other communities. We are delighted to see new students coming with new perspectives, new cultures and new languages. It is enriching for all and I hope that our entire community will benefit from it. This strategy will be formalised during the year with a change of name and visual identity as voted in the last General Assembly last June.
This strategy is in line with our AEFE network, to which we belong and with which we renewed our agreement last year.
Another project, the extension of the kindergarten and elementary school, has been decided to be implemented, so our teams will focus this year on developing this. We want a friendly space, a space that encourages learning, an innovative space for our students and all those who support them.
This year will see the implementation of the reforms to the BAC. It is mainly our grade 11 (Premiere) students who this will concern. The choices are more varied and the combination of specialties will express their interests. I wish them success and that they take pleasure while learning..
Education in the International French School (Singapore), as in the AEFE network, is a multilingual education. As you know it is one of our favourite themes, we continue on this line and in this implementation so that all our students become multilingual and adapted to the international environment that is theirs.
I wish all of our students from the youngest to the oldest a great academic year with much joy, lots of friendships, and success. Welcome back to school for the academic year 2019-2020.
